Please do not wear deodorant, lotion, perfume or any other substance on your skin. Our diagnostic professionals use whole breast ultrasound to supplement routine mammography and help locate tiny tumors that may be hidden in dense tissue. The program, a collaboration between the Women's Hospital, Genomic Medicine Institute, Cancer Center and Imaging Services, aims to identify women who are at high risk for developing breast cancer at some point in their lifetime and help them manage their risk or the resulting diagnosis. Mammography examinations offered at the breast centre: Routine screening mammogram This is a doctor-ordered exam. We use a state-of-the-art digital biopsy device, or breast ultrasound unit, to locate the area of concern. We offer digital mammography technology — including tomosynthesis 3-D mammograms — for screening mammograms, which provides a detailed electronic picture of your breast.
